Pack Raft
Using the emerald green river in front of Lodge Kiyokawa, you can go explore some miniature waterfalls and beautiful cliff faces. With a very easily maneuverable 3kg ‘Pack-Raft’, it is perfect to enjoy the power of our rivers as an adventurous couple or family!

For a prefecture like Oita having the most abundant number of hot springs in the world, it is a surprise to see that Bungo Ono does not have any. The history of saunas in Bungo Ono dates back to around 500 years ago when our ancestors would use steam rock baths that were carved on the sides of cliffs to relax. From this, we want to honour that history and make an abundant sauna culture in this city.
“Joki” Tent Sauna
The word Joki in Finnish means river and in Japanese it is slang for great. The meaning of these words is what the sauna experiences in Bungo Ono represent. Located at the riverbanks of Lodge Kiyokawa, the emerald green river, which is used as the cold bath, will give you a natural experience like no other.

Rebuild Sauna
Located near the entrance of Mt. Sobo on the grounds of Guest House Lamp, this sauna was the first hand-made out of the sauna experiences. Surrounding it is the vast energy of the mountain with a large old-school stove that will surely keep you heated throughout the winter.

Tuli Tuli Sauna
A quirky little sauna located across the river from Lodge Kiyokawa. It is situated right beside Café Param, which boasts many different dishes (Pizza, Reimen, Bibimbap etc.) it is sure to satisfy the after-sauna hunger cravings.

Inazumi Tent Sauna
This is the most unique sauna location out of all of our sauna experiences. This tent sauna is set up inside a 1-2 km long underwater cave where after taking in the heat of the sauna, you can jump in the crystal-clear waters that this unique cave boasts.
Pricing: 9000 yen/ per person (when using alone), 5500 yen/per person (when using more than 2 people)

Inukai Tent Sauna
A Sauna located at Inukai River Park which is a large campground for outdoor lovers. With its wide river, that also hosts Japan’s Olympic canoeing team, you might just spot a famous Japanese athlete while taking a cold bath.

Olle
This 12 km walk throughout Bungo Ono and our neighboring city Taketa perfectly represents all of the best nature tourism spots of each. This trail starts from Asaji station, going through Yujaku Park, Fukoji Temple, and Oka Castle ruins, and ending in the beautiful downtown of Taketa and at an onsen called Hanamizuki. It is open all year long and has very noticeable indicators on the walk so it is hard to get lost. It is a great walk for anyone who loves nature!
